We are a Public Benefit Corporation

What is it, and why is it important?

The Whole Works is a brand new Colorado-based clothing production facility that is dedicated to creating dignified jobs and reinvigorating American manufacturing. As one of the first Public Benefit Corporations in the state, we are focused on making a social impact by partnering with a job preparation program that teaches production sewing to women who are transitioning from federal assistance.

Our mission

We know that an investment in women is an investment in their families, and the communities in which they live.  We also know that making clothing is an art form, an act of patience, skill, and love.  This is why The Whole Works is focused on employing women who are transitioning from federal assistance, creating dignified jobs that create a sense of self worth, and stop the cycle of poverty in its tracks.

The Whole Works serves designers who are looking for small-run cut and sew production, and who are dedicated to manufacturing high-quality products in a sustainable and ethical way. Working in partnership with GarCo Sewing Works, a non-profit employment preparation program that teaches production sewing to women, The Whole Works is addressing the need for dignified, well-paying jobs, while responding to the desire for American-made goods.

Who we serve

The Whole Works serves designers who are looking for small-run cut and sew production, and who are dedicated to manufacturing quality products in an ethical and sustainable way.

Our facility

Our new facility is located in the heart of downtown Rifle, Colorado.  We are focusing a lot of our energy on making sure our space is beautiful, comfortable, and conducive to a sense of well-being.  The facility includes a small retail space, a communal area that will be available for after school activities and downtime, and a sewing corner with machines available for use by anyone in the community.
